Matthew Slotkin is an Associate Professor of Music at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA, where he has directed the guitar program since 2004. In 2016 and 2024 he taught at the Eastman School of Music as a sabbatical replacement for Nicholas Goluses. He has given masterclasses at numerous institutions and festivals including the Hartwick College Summer Music Festival, the Alexandria Guitar Festival, the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Victorian College of Arts (University of Melbourne), Northwestern University, the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music, the University of Saskatchewan, Duke University, Nazareth College, and many others. He has also taught guitar and chamber music at the Peabody Summer Guitar Intensive, the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival, and classical and jazz guitar at Buffalo State College in Buffalo, NY, Alfred University in Alfred, NY, Mansfield University in Mansfield, PA, and in the Eastman School of Music’s Community Education Division.

In addition to directing the guitar program at Bloomsburg University, Slotkin resides and teaches in New York City.
